Galveston

The Galveston County court system includes two specialty courts: HOPE Drug Court, a court-supervised treatment program for non-violent, repeat drug offenders with an addiction to drugs or alcohol; and Mental Health Court, which connects eligible defendants with community-based mental health treatment and assigns them to community-based supervision.

Galveston County Specialty Courts have proven successful in addressing the root causes of substance abuse, mental health issues and other specific needs to ultimately change clients’ behavior since they were founded in 2012. Justice Forward will be able to amplify that impact by connecting clients with funding and recovery resources.
