The court serves parents and children age 0 to 5, with a current ratio of 90% female and 10% male adults.

SUCCESS STORIES

Autumn
My name is Autumn and I wanted to tell you about my journey through being addicted, having a terrible brain disease and how Harris County Positive Pathways and recovery has changed my life. When I was growing up, there was abuse in the home and many more things. I started using drugs at the age of 12 and by the time I hit 18 I was a full-blown drug addict. I continued using drugs until July 20, 2016. I made some poor choices as a mother and was asked to come into the Harris County Family Intervention Court which is now Harris County Positive Pathways Program. It was then that my life was completely changed and turned upside-down—or maybe should I say right-side up.

This program helped get me into Santa Maria Hostel, which is a treatment facility, and helped me get my mental health in order, build structure in my life and get my beautiful daughter back. They supported me with therapy and family counseling, and they rebuilt me from the ground up into who I am today, and I am truly grateful. I have been working for the program for three years as the Peer Mentor and I am now in training to become the next recovery coach for the Positive Pathways Program. If it wasn’t for this program I don’t know where I would be. I am truly blessed to be a part of it!
